  37. Has anyone built a working 10 Ghz link. I've looked at the article in the 
  38. handbook and have been unsuccessfull in locating the 13055 device.

  91. Has anyone else noticed that KA9Q beats the pants off commercial
  92. routers, e.g. the Livingston PortMaster?  Damn thing won't let me set
  93. up a static route to a network.  If I'd only run with my intuition and
  94. gotten a sync card with a packet driver, I'd have gotten the routing
  95. job done at half the cost AND half the time AND half the exasperation.

  195. I have a 9612 running KISS connected to Linux kernel ax.25 .  It's a
  196. _really_smart_ TNC. Simultaneous dual-port operation along with
  197. port-to-port gateway, multi-connect BBS, KA-NODE (a less than
  198. full-featured NetROM implementation), online help, etc. It's super
  199. low-power - the software even lets you turn off the front panel lights
  200. to save power. It knows about multi-drop KISS, or you can switch either
  201. port to be "kiss port 0" and run single-drop KISS on that port.  The
  202. 9600 port knows how to connect to an external modem at 19,200 baud,
  203. like the ones built into the Kantronics Data Radio.  The only thing I
  204. don't like is that the host baud rate is limited to 19,200.

  206. At $200, I don't see why you'd buy any other 9600 TNC. None of the
  207. others will run both ports simultaneously.

  209. I think that these TNCs would make inexpensive remote relays. $200 for
  210. the TNC, $90 for a TEKK radio, say $200-$300 more for enclosure, antenna,
  211. solar panel, battery. The whole thing could go in a small box atop a phone
  212. pole. If they made one with two 9600 ports, it would be even better for
  213. remote relay stations. Too bad it doesn't know how to gateway IP - you'd
  214. have to digipeat or use KA-NODE.

  216. Unfortunately, at the moment the nearest 9600 operator and I can't hear
  217. each other. I'm working on that.

  228. I'm just starting to use JNOS 1.10e.  I can't seem to get my pk232 MBX
  229. into KISS mode and set the speed to 9600 from the autoexec.nos file.
  230. Here's what I've tried based on other's suggestions:
